Professional experience
Susan’s varied professional background has been a great help in her legal career. She has worked in the defense industry; owned her own design and clothing manufacturing business; worked in the restaurant and retail industries; managed a wool and fiber mill; taught first grade; practiced law; and currently manages a farm while doing legal work.
education
Susan grew up in Johnson County, Kansas, but has moved around to Colorado, Texas, Missouri, Louisiana, Tennessee, and now back to Kansas. She earned her BA in Business Administration from The Colorado College, her MBA from Avila University, and her law degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. She has also attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and Oxford University in Oxford, England.
Personal Profile
Susan lives on a farm in Mound City, Kansas, where she raises Scottish Highland cattle, Jacob sheep, Nubian goats, horses, meat rabbits, Cotton Patch geese, chickens, and a couple of pigs. She adores her 3 children and 3 grandchildren and is glad to be back in Kansas, closer to her mom and sister. She loves to travel internationally, cook, grow her own food, and take care of the earth and its inhabitants.
